Dr. Wofford, you are an Award Winning Best-Selling Author of several books, what inspired you to start writing and become an Author?

A nudge from God. My inspiration to write stems from a deep desire to motivate and uplift others, offering them a sense of hope. I believe that sharing our stories—testimonies of God’s love and power—holds immense value, as the breakthroughs of others are often intertwined with our experiences. Writing has been therapeutic for me, providing a means to inspire people far beyond my immediate reach. While I didn’t initially set out to become an award-winning, internationally recognized, best-selling author, I’m honored and grateful that this is the path God has chosen for me. It is a privilege to be able to touch lives through my words, and I continue to embrace this calling with humility and gratitude.

Congratulations on becoming the Visionary Author of your anthology book, “Breaking The Chains “Liberating Your Lineage From Generational Curses.” I found the title to be so interesting and powerful. Tell the readers about this amazing book and the reason you created it.

Thank you. This book is truly a labor of love. It is a profound collection of stories that delve into the generational chains that have bound families for as long as even our eldest members can remember. This anthology features contributions from myself and eight other courageous men and women who have bravely declared that these generational curses end with them. They have taken a stand and are unafraid to speak openly about the challenges they have overcome to free themselves and future generations.

It is crucial for me to address these issues because, within African American communities, we are often taught to follow the paths laid by our ancestors, even when those paths may no longer serve us. Many of us believe that we must remain entrenched in the circumstances into which we were born, but that is not the case. Dysfunctional behaviors and patterns should not be accepted as normal. We owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to break these cycles, allowing us all to live healthier, more fulfilling lives—especially for the generations that follow. This book collaboration is so special to me because I had the opportunity to share this writing experience with my husband, my beautiful daughter, my sister and my niece as we’re all on one accord. The other coauthors are close friends that God placed us in each other’s lives.

You are a co-author in the anthology book, “Girl, Let That Go!” Tell us about this book and your chapter within the book. Girl, Let That Go is another amazing book. Special thanks to the wonderful Visionary Author Dr. Frances Ann Bailey for the opportunity. This book is a book about “Forgiveness” stories ranging from hurt, unforgiveness, family trauma, unhealthy relationships and so much more. The title of my chapter is “Letting Go Of Unforgiveness. I shared a story that I’ve never talked about and how I harbored unforgiveness in my heart for years towards the person that offended me.  I wasn’t totally free of that situation until I was able to truly forgive. It’s important that people study to understand what forgiveness is and who it’s for. They will have to purchase the book to get the full chapter.

The Marketplace Mogul: The Journey of Entrepreneurship, what is the book about and tell us about your chapter?

This is also an anthology, and I want to thank the awesome Alandria Lloyd who’s the Visionary Author on this project. I along with five other Visionary Leaders and entrepreneurs decided to share our authentic experiences as entrepreneurs. The parts that people don’t like to talk about. This book is a roadmap for aspiring entrepreneurs to help them navigate the twist and turns of the journey. The title of my chapter is “New Entrepreneur Staying Focused and Overcoming Challenges”. My chapter started out with a quote from one of my favorite motivational speakers Mr. Les Brown. “God gave you the dream so don’t expect everyone to see something that was given to you. It’s your dream! Believe in it, cultivate it until it becomes reality”.  I shared one of the most hurtful experiences as a new entrepreneur and this quote changed my life.

Tell the readers about some of your other books.

Through my writing, I don't just tell my story; I offer practical, actionable steps that my readers can apply to navigate their own challenges. My books and journals are crafted to inspire, empower, and guide others on their journeys. All my works are available for purchase on my website at www.drlashondawofford.com.

What advice would you give to women who feel their life is stagnant and they are struggling to move forward?

My advice would be to remember, feeling stagnant is often a temporary state, and with some proactive steps, you can move toward a more fulfilling and dynamic life. Here are 10 actionable steps that can be used.

  1. Reflect on Your Values and Goals: Take some time to think about what truly matters to you. What are your passions, interests, and long-term goals? Sometimes, feeling stuck is a sign that your current situation isn't aligned with your values.

  2. Set Small, Achievable Goals: Breaking down larger goals into smaller, manageable tasks can make progress feel more attainable. Celebrate each small victory to build momentum.

  3. Seek New Experiences: Trying something new, whether it's a hobby, a class, or a different routine, can provide fresh perspectives and opportunities. Stepping out of your comfort zone can often spark new interests and ideas.

  4. Connect with Others: Surround yourself with supportive people who inspire and encourage you. Networking or joining groups with similar interests can provide new opportunities and insights.

  5. Invest in Yourself: Consider personal development opportunities such as courses, workshops, or therapy. Investing in your growth can lead to new insights and pathways.

  6. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself and recognize that everyone faces periods of stagnation. Avoid comparing your journey to others and focus on your unique path.

  7. Evaluate Your Environment: Sometimes, a change in your surroundings can make a big difference. This could mean altering your physical environment, like redecorating your space, or changing your routine.

  8. Take Care of Your Well-Being: Ensure you're addressing your physical, emotional, and mental health. Exercise, good nutrition, and adequate rest can all contribute to a more positive outlook and energy levels.

  9. Seek Professional Guidance: If you're struggling to make changes on your own, a career coach, counselor, or therapist can offer valuable support and guidance.

  10. Stay Patient and Persistent: Change often takes time. Be patient with yourself and keep pushing forward, even if progress seems slow.

Remember, feeling stagnant is often a temporary state, and with some proactive steps, you can move toward a more fulfilling and dynamic life.

Do you have any other upcoming conferences, events, or workshops?

Give us some words to educate, inspire, and encourage women and the readers of Growth Women’s Business Networks Magazine.

Absolutely! In a world brimming with challenges and opportunities, each of you stands as a beacon of strength and resilience. Your journey as women in business is both unique and transformative, and it’s essential to embrace the power of your voice and vision.

Educate: Knowledge is your most powerful tool. Embrace every opportunity to learn and grow, not just in your professional sphere but in understanding your own capabilities and potential. Remember, education is a lifelong endeavor. Stay curious, seek new skills, and never underestimate the value of continuous learning. It’s through this pursuit of knowledge that you will unlock doors to new opportunities and innovations.

Inspire: Your achievements are more than personal milestones; they are a source of inspiration for others. Let your story, your struggles, and your successes be a testament to what is possible. Share your experiences openly and support one another in this shared journey. When you uplift others, you create a ripple effect that extends beyond yourself, fostering a community of empowered women who are driving change and setting new standards.

Encourage: Embrace the challenges you face with courage and optimism. Every obstacle is an opportunity for growth and learning. When doubt arises, remember why you started and the dreams you are striving to achieve. Encourage yourself and those around you to persevere, celebrate the small victories, and recognize the progress made along the way. Your resilience is a powerful force that can turn setbacks into comebacks.

Together, let us forge ahead with determination, knowing that the path we pave today will create a legacy of empowerment and success for generations to come.

For daily inspiration, motivation, support and encouragement I would also like to extend a warm invite to every woman that may read this article to join me and the amazing women of the All Bets On Me Community on Facebook.
